1. Hanging bridge
String together a bridge of toilet paper tubes and hide treats inside to give your rabbit a fun hanging toy to play with. You can hang this bridge up between chair legs or in your rabbit’s enclosure. It’s great for chewing and foraging as your rabbit figures out how to get those yummy treats out of the cardboard tubes.
2. Cardboard flower
This is one of the simplest toys you can make for your rabbit. All you need is a cardboard toilet paper or paper towel tube and a pair of scissors. It can be a fun chewing and tossing toy for your rabbit or you can stuff it with hay and treats to make it more enticing.
3. Hidden puzzle toy
This is a puzzle toy that I decided to create for my little bunny after seeing some toys in a pet store. The idea is to create a platform with 9 pieces the rabbit can lift up. There will be a treat under one of the pieces and the rabbit has to figure out which one covers the treat.
4. Hanging tug toy
Hanging tubes give our curious rabbits the chance to tug and pull on a toy hanging on the side of their enclosure. You can hide treats in the middle of the tubes along with your rabbit’s hay or leafy greens. This kind of toy can be a variety that is great for their mental enrichment, and it can help them eat a healthy diet, by increasing the amount of hay and leafy greens they’re eating.
5. Rolling treat dispenser
This is a super simple toy to make with a toilet paper tube. It will only take about 5 minutes to create, but it can give your rabbit hours (or more) of fun. The goal for this toy is to create a simple food dispenser. You can put rabbit pellets or treats inside of it so your rabbit has a chance to roll it and toss it around while they figure out how to get the treats out.
6. DIY treat ball
This is an easy toy that you can make for your rabbit using a toilet paper tube. This should only take a handful of minutes to create and doesn’t require anything except a pair of scissors and a little rabbit treat.
The goal of this DIY toy is to create a compact ball for your rabbit to chew through and find a treat inside. It’s great for your rabbit’s chewing instincts and is a mental enrichment activity to keep your rabbit mentally healthy.
